This modification is meant to reduce felt recoil and muzzle rise. We've been hard at work R&Ding our ports for the Platypus platform; we've finally nailed it. We can't wait for you to try out your Platy once we've taken care of it!
We will NEED your slide and barrel for the porting process.
You'll see above that you have A LOT of porting options. We'll do our best to break down the options so that you can make an educated decision on which option is best for you.
Starting with a transparent, but VERY hot take, chunk-style ports aren't worth what they will cost you. They're over hyped, period. What you get out of a chunk-style port is a snap or quick blast of leverage, forcing your muzzle downward. In our opinion, this helps marginally with returning to zero quicker, and does almost nothing for felt recoil. When paired with In-Line Porting (Hybrid Porting), chunk-style ports can be very beneficial. In-Line porting alone does wonders for felt recoil and muzzle rise; the addition of a chunk-style port will add more downward leverage to the front of the pistol. There's one other plus to just chunk-style ports that we feel needs mentioning; more often than not, you're able to run your OEM recoil spring assembly. Now, before you get up in arms about our opinion, it's just that, an opinion. You don't need to listen to us, we're still more than happy to chunk port your Platypus! This is us putting our best foot forward; hopefully, you can appreciate our honesty.
Moving on to our In-Line ports, this style is where you will net the most performance gains. Think of our In-Line ports starting from the chamber and ending towards the tip of the muzzle. What is happening with each shot is an early gas release, expelling gas that will be wasted anyway, then a smooth transition into downward leverage. Wasting gas intentionally is meant to expel unnecessary energy that would otherwise translate to more felt recoil. The purpose of smoothly transitioning into downward leverage is to make your handgun more predictable and less snappy, both in the up and down direction. This style of porting will speak for itself when you take it out to the range, but we hope this explanation aids in your decision-making process.

If you're adding Cerakote to your project:
Refresh and elevate the look of your Stealth Arms slide or barrel by having us give it a fresh coat of Cerakote! Whether you're interested in getting a fresh coat of black or you want to go all out on a desert multicam, we've got you covered.
Understand that Cerakote applicators (custom shops in general) are similar to tattoo artists. By that, we mean you may show us an inspiration photo of a multicam you like that was done by another shop; when done by us, it will be done in our style. The same can be said for battleworn. We all have our own unique style, and we like to think that's why you want to send your project to us for Cerakote!
Lastly, if you are getting Cerakote or machining of any kind, your slide will need to be completely disassembled. If you do your own disassembly and assembly, there's no need to pay us to do it. If you don't have the tools at home, we're happy to take care of it for you!
